RSS Mobile and reading blogs on a PDA
Right To Left By host on 3/26/2007
There is a great article on RSS Mobile and reading blogs on a PDA (http://webworkerdaily.com/2007/03/20/rss-on-the-go-a-look-at-web-based-mobile-aggregators/) going around. I think the article is well written and general a great read! Essentially, the writer argues that these apps should be web based so that there are no applications needed to install. I have a few issues with this: 1. This requires continuous uninterrupted internet access. This is not currently feasible. WIFI and Cellular G3 broadband connections are not ubiquitous. Therefore, I think a mobile application that sync up in real time over the air is a better solution. The web page is important too but not if you are offline. 2. The public at large (especially of consumer devices) want a richer interaction than a mobile browser can give. Even AJAX is going to have to come a long way on mobile devices.

Keyboard Shortcuts
Right To Left By host on 3/26/2007
I love keyboard shortcuts. Almost all my computing is now on a laptop and I cannot stand the built in mice (yes I have two). This is why I love windows shortcuts (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/301583) and winkey (http://nantz.org/Blog/tabid/57/EntryID/413/Default.aspx). Now there is a list of shortcuts for Vista: http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows/en-US/help/2503b91d-d780-4c80-8f08-2f48878dc5661033.mspx#E5PAC
